Community Partnerships and the Broader Impact

Building partnerships throughout central Alberta is important to fulfilling the overall mission of TLC. It helps us raise awareness about our services and the supports open to anyone in need of medical equipment. Working closely with AHS health care professionals is just one connection.

There are many other NonProfit organizations that are natural partners. The Golden Circle Senior Resource Centre is just one of those that TLC has had the opportunity to create some positive synergies with. We are a resource for them when it comes to their education sessions on fall prevention, maintaining independence and even aging in place. In turn, The Golden Circle is an excellent resource that they make referrals to for support services through their Outreach Program for a place to continue to be active and connected.

“The Lending Cupboard plays a major role in supporting our seniors and people with disabilities by providing daily living aids, wheelchairs, bathroom and bedroom safety equipment so that people can live independently at home.” Says Monica Morrison, Executive Director of the Golden Circle.

Monica also shares that, “The Lending Cupboard not only provides a service but they provide rewarding opportunities for volunteers to give back to their community through the many volunteer opportunities. We encourage this to some of our members.”

Partnerships such as these supports our mission to enhance the quality of life by maintaining mobility, independence and dignity to people in Central Alberta.
